What does the Role Involve?

Organize One Event A Month- Simple easy "chick flick" movie meet ups, Or dinner and drinks after work once a month
No Cost - No cost to you except your event expenses (like your own movie ticket or dinner costs). No charges from us.
Make your own hours- We require that you hold one event a month but the when,where and how is up to you!
Answer Questions and Help Out - You are the local face in your community. Sometimes you will get questions or requests.
Minimum 3 Months- If you know you are not planning on moving, going back to school, or taking on a new major responsibility in the next few months - Please apply!
Excellent opportunities- Enjoy GFS training, meeting new friends, helping out women in your community, volunteer work reference to potential employers and the opportunity for GFS paid roles for those who excel at the role!

What the Role Is NOT?

No Self Promotion- If you own your own business, no selling or promoting it (Tupperware, home parties, insurance etc)
Just post events and they will come - You WILL need to do marketing for your events to make them successful. There are many free and easy "grassroots" marketing that you can do. If you don't want to spend time promoting GFS or your event, this may not be the role for you.
Fancy and Expensive Events- Many women are nervous about attending their first events. Although that $50 dinner or the $100 wine tour sounds like fun, you will need to build up trust in your community BEFORE these events will work on the site. Expect to hold quick after work meet ups, simple movie meetings or a coffee/dinner meeting on a Sunday afternoon as the first few events.
In order for Girlfriend Social to allow women everywhere to meet and bond with new women in their local area, a local person needs to be available. This person will answer questions of new local members, mention the website to friends and family, and hold fun events like going to the movies to see a "chick flick", or heading to the local restaurant for a meet and greet.

There are no limits on what you can accomplish! If you like meeting new people and hosting events this role just might be what you are looking for.

Become an GFS Event Representative

Make Friends, Choose Your Own Hours and Lots of Fun. Interested?

Are you interested in meeting new female friends in your area? Work on your time and your terms.

Girlfriend Social is run by a very small team of volunteers.(Usually just Amanda) There are no major corporations or investors paying for the website, like other major social networking websites. We don't charge ANY membership fees to anyone. We NEED women like you to volunteer some of your time to help keep the site going and bring it to your local area.

If you can find a local restaurant or bar that can hold a group of 10 women, Print out some flyers and post them in local areas, post to your blog, facebook, or twitter account about your event or simply tell your friends and family about your new volunteer role, We want to talk to you!!

Ideal candidates are outgoing individuals with sales or event planning experience, but that certainly isnt required! As a host you will facilitate local events, mingling with Girlfriend Social members and ensuring that they are having fun. We are looking for hard-working, organized and social individuals to help us build our team!

6 Steps to GFS Event Representative

  1. Sign up for a GFS Account and Submit your application via the online form
  2. If Selected you will receive Rules and Details Documents
  3. Take the GFS Event Test via the website and Pass
  4. Sign the GFS Event Planner document
  5. Become a GFS Trainee - Receive the Detail Training Manual and Post your First Event
  6. After your first event happens and is reviewed, you will be Officially Promoted to your GFS Area Rep!

Woah, Wait a sec. Why am I doing all these steps for a Volunteer Role?

Sadly, In the past when these rules were not in place, some women hosted events and missed the mark. These women No showed, were rude to the women, brought a group of guys to 'meet the ladies', worked for competitor sites and more. The complaints and bad words came pouring back to GFS and those event hosts were never seen again. It can seem like a lot, but these rules are here to make sure you are serious about female friendships and will follow some very simple guidelines. If this seems too much for you at this time, then considering getting verified and hosting your own private events instead. If you choose to invest some time though, you will be directly responsible for helping to change many women's lives who might be lonely, isolated and are waiting for someone like you to help them get out for a girls night!
