What the Role Is NOT...
No Self Promotion- If you own your own business, no selling or promoting it (Tupperware, home parties, insurance etc)Just post events and they will come - You WILL need to do marketing for your events to make them successful. There are many free and easy "grassroots" marketing ideas that you can do. If you don't want to spend time promoting GFS or your event, this may not be the role for you. Fancy and Expensive Events- Many women are nervous about attending their first events. Although that $50 dinner or the $100 wine tour sounds like fun, you will need to build up trust in your community BEFORE these events will work on the site. Expect to hold quick after work meet ups, simple movie meetings or a coffee/dinner meeting on a Sunday afternoon as the first few events. You will plan "Pay your own way" events ONLY.We Hope you will apply and help us create female friendships in your city today.

Make Friends, Get Out of Your House,And Do Fun Things In Your City.
Are you interested in meeting new female friends in your area and doing fun local things?Girlfriend Social is run by a very small team of volunteers.(Usually just Amanda) There are no major corporations or investors paying for things, like other major social networking websites you might use. We don't charge ANY membership fees to anyone. We NEED women like you to volunteer some of your time to help keep the site going and bring it to your local area.
If you can find a local restaurant, bar, coffee shop or movie theatre that can hold a group of 10 women, Print out some flyers and post them in local areas, post to your blog, facebook, or twitter account about your event or simply tell your friends and family about your new volunteer role, We want to talk to you!!
Ideal candidates are outgoing individuals with sales or event planning experience, but that certainly isnt required! As a host you will facilitate local events, mingling with Girlfriend Social members and ensuring that they are having fun. We are looking for hard-working, organized and social individuals to help us get GFS local to you!!
